FAQ Handpresso E-Presso
Our battery has been sized to guarantee the best compromise between compactness and autonomy.
In this way, the e-presso model can fit in your car cup holder and make at least 3 espressos of 50ml under standard temperature conditions (water and machine stored at 20°C).
Please note that if you use your machine with a volume of water greater than that of an espresso (50mL) and at a temperature below 20°C, the autonomy of your battery will be affected.
It is therefore perfectly normal to make only 2 or 3 coffees. On the other hand, in the middle of summer you'll gain in autonomy!
Handpresso E-Presso standard autonomy (ref 21700) :
50ml: 4 espressos
90ml : 2 lungos
Autonomy Handpresso E-Presso + (ref 21710 and 21712) :
50ml: 5 espressos
90ml : 3 lungos
120ml : 2 lungos
If you're using the machine with boiling water, you won't need to wait. You can make your coffee immediately by double-clicking on the start button.
As soon as the machine beeps 3 times, you can extract your coffee.
By using boiling water, your battery is preserved and you can make around fifty coffees on a single charge.
Make sure you use the adapter and USB-C cable supplied.
Not all USB-C cables/ports deliver the same power!
Charging time for E-Presso and E-Presso+:
With a 10W charger: approx. 3h30
With a 15W charger: approx. 3 hours
Check that the battery is working properly:
When the machine is switched off (no lights on), pressing the power button for 5 seconds should start the pump.
If this is not the case, please contact our after-sales service sav@handpresso.fr
Did you double-click to start heating the water?
Have you checked the machine's battery charge level?
Here are the standard charging times with a water temperature of 20°C:
40ml: 3 min 30
50ml: 3 min 45
60ml: 4 min 30
90ml: 6 min 30
If the water is very cold or if there are more than 50ml in the tank, the heating time will necessarily be longer.
For example, in the middle of winter with water at 5°C and the tank filled to the brim, the heating time can be as long as 6-7 minutes.
If this doesn't solve the problem, contact the Handpresso after-sales service: sav@handpresso.fr, who will take care of repairing your machine.
FAQ Handcoffee
Handcoffee machines work with Senseo® type pods, also known as soft pods. You can easily find them in supermarkets.
They measure 80mm.
Only single pads are accepted in Handcoffee machines.
Handcoffee machines heat water like a kettle, so all you have to do is maintain your machine like your kettle.
Pour white vinegar instead of water into the machine's reservoir and start the cycle to descale it, then rinse it several times with clean water to remove the vinegar taste.
It is advisable to descale the machine regularly (every 2 months or 100 coffees) to increase its performance and lifespan.
If you have not activated your machine immediately after the end-of-cycle beep, a safety device is activated. To deactivate it and restart the cycle, press the ON button again.
If this does not solve the problem, contact the Handpresso after-sales service: sav@handpresso.fr, who will take care of repairing your machine.
If, when you turn your machine upside down, water runs around the filter holder, check that the orange seal is still in place.
If you lose your seal, you can buy a new one on our website in the spare parts section.
If this doesn't solve the problem, contact the Handpresso after-sales service: sav@handpresso.fr, who will take care of repairing your machine.
- Check the power delivered by your cigarette lighter socket. On lorries, 12V sockets are often of low power. The machine requires a minimum of 140W (minimum 12A fuse).
- Do not use extension cords or power strips.
- Test the machine in another vehicle.
If the machine doesn't work in another vehicle either, please contact our after-sales service sav@handpresso.fr to arrange for it to be repaired by our workshop.

Check that the filter holder (lid) is clean.
After several uses, coffee grounds can become embedded in the filter and block the flow of your coffee. If a pod has torn, some beans may have slipped into the filter under the nozzle. In this case, follow the procedure below to clean the filter.
1. Pull firmly on the nozzle to unclip it.
2. Position a light opposite the coffee outlet.
3. If you can't see a light beam from the other side, your filter holder is blocked!
4. Insert a sewing needle in the hole to remove the foreign bodies.
5. If you can see a light beam, your filter door is unblocked!
If the problem remains, please contact our after-sales service sav@handpresso.fr to arrange for your filter holder to be repaired by our workshop.
FAQ Handpresso Auto Capsule
The water level sensor works thanks to the minerals in the water.
Some waters have very low mineral content and therefore cannot detect the water level, which is why the light remains white.
Check the mineral content of your water:
You can find this information on the bottle labels: the mineral content is shown as ‘dry residue’ or TDS on the bottles and must be greater than 150 mg:
Most mineral waters work, except for those with very low mineral content (e.g. Montroucou and Volvic in France).
Tap water also generally works very well (except in certain volcanic areas where it is very low in mineral content).
To be sure it's a water problem, you can test by putting in a few grains of salt (after this test, throw the water away). The detector should turn green.
Descale your machine regularly (every 2 months or every 100 coffees) to increase its performance and lifespan.
Descale the machine by filling it with a mixture of 50% white vinegar and 50% water.
Rinse 5 or 6 times with clean water.
Be sure to clean the grid regularly with a small brush.
Do not use extension cords or power strips.
Never run a cycle without water.
Some capsules take longer to pierce.
For intense or ristretto capsules, the machine can take up to 20 seconds to pierce the capsule, so you may need to wait a little after the stop button appears.
If this does not solve the problem, contact the Handpresso after-sales service: sav@handpresso.fr, who will take care of repairing your machine.
FAQ Handpresso Pump
To keep your machine in tip-top condition, we recommend that you grease it regularly.
To do this, place a few drops of cooking oil on the pump stem and pump a few times to grease the seals inside.
This operation should also be carried out on the infusion button to prevent it from becoming hard to operate.
To clean any limescale that may have accumulated in the tank of your machine, fill the tank with white vinegar, then rinse several times with clean water.
To clean your machine's filter holder, simply rinse it in clean water.
