The 12v coffee maker in a famous French consumer website

Handpresso report published in Les Numériques

Les Numériques, a consumer website dedicated to consumer goods, has tested our various travel espresso machines. After the Handpresso Pump, the 100% portable manual machine that launched the concept of portable espresso in January 2008, is now the on-board coffee makers from Handpresso, which are submitted to tests.

There was a test report on Handcoffee Auto, the 12v coffee maker in 2015. Using the soft Senseo® pods, this coffee maker for long coffees prepares a coffee extracted at 2 bars.

The on-board machine for espresso capsules

It is now the turn of the last of the range working with compatible Nespresso® and Nespresso® espresso capsules to be tested. It is the Handpresso Auto Capsule 12/24V which, like the other Handpresso on-board machines, connects to the cigarette lighter and fits into the cup holder. Compared to the previous models of 12V Handpresso coffee makers, it is equipped with new features that make Handpresso Auto Capsule a top-of-the-range 12V coffee maker.

The added values are the following:

- 12/24V compatible (therefore suitable for both cars and trucks)

- 19 bar-pressure

- Digital monitoring of the preparation

- Electronic filling control

- Electronic delay system (5mn)

- Anti-spray nozzle

Handpresso Auto Capsule

Simple operation with electronic tracking

"To fill the water tank of the 12V coffee maker, nothing could be easier: the small measuring cup is used to pour 50 ml into the Handpresso Auto Capsule. A small LED flashes white when there is not enough water in the tank; fixed green when it is perfectly full and can flash red if there is too much water in the tank. Then, a Nespresso® (or Nespresso® compatible) capsule is placed in the capsule holder before closing the filter holder.

The 12v electric coffee maker starts and shows, step by step, the procedure to follow to make a coffee. When the water is heating, the "on/off" indicator flashes white and the small display shows the progress of the cycle (in percent). 100% coffee is ready to be enjoyed. All that remains is to press the key identified by the cup icon. Note that the extraction does not stop automatically; you must press the "stop" button.

A rather innate handling

"The icons are clear. If the Handpresso Auto Capsule should never be used when driving, it is strongly recommended to use the car coffee maker while the engine is running. The manufacturer ensures that the high-end 12V coffee maker is equipped with a safety system that protects the car's battery if its voltage is insufficient.

Little maintenance to be planned on the Handpresso Auto Capsule. Only the portafilter with the nozzle is removable and can be rinsed with tap water. The supplied cup can be put in the dishwasher.
The capsule holder and the outside of the machine can be cleaned with a damp sponge."

Why choose a Handpresso Auto Capsule?

Because this car espresso machine allows you to use the capsules you have at home to prepare a quality espresso anytime and stop during your trip or whenever fatigue is felt.
